It is important guests adhere to the strict guidelines from Gravenhurst Fire regarding outdoor burning. Information on this website (main page), in the cottage compendium and signage at the cottage itself will indicate the current fire status. Additionally, accessing the Gravenhurst Fire website will provide updated status. Gravenhurst Fire operates on a colour coded tiered system:
GREEN: Low danger of fire. You may conduct any municipally permitted fire activities. No daytime burning from April 1 to October 31.
YELLOW: Moderate danger of fire. Carry out permitted fire activities with caution. No daytime burning from April 1 to October 31.
ORANGE: High danger of fire. Only absolutely necessary municipally permitted activities should be carried out. However, it is recommended that no burning should occur. No daytime burning from April 1 to October 31.
RED: Extreme fire danger. NO BURNING OF ANY KIND and NO FIREWORKS ARE PERMITTED.

Garbage- We ask that all guests depart with their garbage. Household garbage, recyclables and organics can be deposited, free of charge, at the Beiers Road Transfer Station on your way back to Highway 11. Please refer to the Cottage Compendium when you arrive for full details.
-
Damage — Excessive damage may result in a fee being assessed. Please let us know when damage occurs so we can work to repair or replace these items as quickly as possible. Damage found after departure will be assessed through the deposit structure.
-
Cleaning — We ask guests to leave the cottage in the same condition it was found. We will, of course, launder the linens, disinfect surfaces, vacuum and replenish supplies, however we ask guests to clean dishes and remove garbage prior to their departure.
-
Parking — Please park within the designated driveway area. Septic beds and other infrastructure restrict where vehicles may be parked so please only use the designated spaces and follow signage on the property.
-
Noise ByLaw 11:00PM — As with most communities in Ontario, there is a local noise by-law which restricts excessive noise after 11:00PM. We ask guests to keep the noise down after this time to be respectful to our neighbours and to reasonable levels during the day. Remember, sound carries across the lake!
-
WIFI- Internet is provided at Hemlock Lake House via satellite. Details on how to log in (and passwords) are provided on arrival. The internet is fairly reliable however outages can occur and your patience is requested when the signal is delayed or out for a short period.
-
One dog is allowed per stay, please ensure you are indicating your dog’s presence when booking. General dog supplies will be provided upon booking when the dog is indicated. Please ensure you are cleaning up after your pet and do not leave them alone in the cabin.
